It’s 5:55 a.m. here in the Delhi airport.   We’ve flown Qatar Air twice now and I highly recommend it – great service, comfortable seats, lots of entertainment options and really really good food.   My new favourite airline!  We arrived at 1:00 a.m. Doha time, 3:30 Delhi time.  Aside from a little very smelly mishap on landing by Hesquiat’s seat mate (none of us), the trip was smooth.  Our next flight to Varanasi is in 7 1/2 hours.  What does one do in the Delhi airport for 7 1/2 hours you ask?   We’ve checked into a squeeky clean lounge with lots of food, not too comfortable couches and lots of noisy announcements but away from the crowds.  We arrived in the international terminal and are now in the domestic terminal.  Both are very modern and clean I’m pleased to report.  The Delhi airport once won a prize for the worst airport in the world – something about mice, dirt,  lack of toilet paper and smells.  Not anymore.  I think maybe Aunt Ann would be pleasantly surprised.  (Remind me to tell you all a few of her India stories sometime.)  Here’s what the rest of the family is up to while I faithfully blog to family and friends to let you know we’ve arrived safe and sound in India.
